Module 2: Kiowa Help Phrases (Survival Phrases)

To learn the Kiowa Help Phrases including the semi-literal translation, the English free translation, situations for when to use each phrase, how to respond to each phrase, and pronunciation of each phrase. As a result of completing this Module, students will be able to do the following:
Identify when it is appropriate to use each Kiowa Help Phrase based on the situation.
Distinguish between specific Help Phrases that have similar meanings and select the correct one for a given context.
Translate the nine Kiowa Help Phrases accurately from English into Kiowa.
Demonstrate understanding of the cultural purpose of Help Phrases in Kiowa language learning and community interaction.
Communicate using Kiowa Help Phrases in interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes.
