LearnKiowa.org is an approval-only learning site operated by Dr. Melody Windsong Redbird-Post for Kiowa language learning access and course administration.
Information We Collect
- First name and last name.
- Email address.
- Optional application note.
- Application status, age confirmation, and policy acceptance timestamps.
- Optional email-update preference and preference timestamp.
- Module and class enrollment, lesson progress, learner bookmarks, private lesson notes, flashcard practice status, lesson-message threads, assessment submissions or uploads when enabled, instructor feedback, and completion certificate records.
- Basic WordPress login, session, and security records needed to operate the site.
How We Use Information
LearnKiowa uses this information to review account applications, manage approved learning access, show learner progress, support instructor review, save learner study tools, send account and password emails, support lesson messages and announcements, issue completion records, and send optional LearnKiowa news or learning-session updates only when a user has opted in.
Who Can Access Information
Site administrators can access account and learning records needed to operate LearnKiowa. Approved instructors can access learner records only for modules or classes they teach or are assigned to, including roster, progress, assessment, message, announcement, and certificate records needed to support those learners. Instructors do not receive site-wide learner access by default. Learners can view their own account, progress, bookmarks, private notes, feedback, messages, and certificate information.
Data Stewardship And Learning Access
LearnKiowa limits access to learner and learning records to approved learners, assigned instructors, and administrators with a LearnKiowa operational need. Private lesson files, protected audio, exam uploads, and instructor message attachments should be stored outside the public web root and served through LearnKiowa access checks. Learner private notes are learner-owned study records and are not included in instructor progress reports.
Email, Media, And Service Providers
LearnKiowa uses email only for account, registration, approval, password, lesson-message, announcement, and site notices. LearnKiowa may use service providers to operate the website, send those notices, maintain backups, and embed owner-approved public videos or audio. Public YouTube, SoundCloud, and direct media links are public at their source and should be used only when approved for public sharing.
Optional mailing-list preferences are stored locally in LearnKiowa. No external newsletter, mailing-list, CRM, or marketing provider is connected by default. Any future provider integration must be separately approved and reflected in this policy before it is used.
No Analytics, Sales, Advertising, Or AI Training
LearnKiowa does not use analytics by default, does not sell learner information, does not use learner information for advertising, and does not use learner records or submissions for AI training.
Age Requirement
Users must be 13 years of age or older to create an account. Do not submit an account application if you are under 13.
Retention
LearnKiowa retains account applications, email-update preferences, progress records, learner study records, assessment records, uploaded exam documents, instructor feedback, and certificate records indefinitely for program continuity, access history, and learning records unless LearnKiowa decides to remove them.
Security
LearnKiowa uses reasonable safeguards for account and learning records, but no internet system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If LearnKiowa learns that personal information may have been accessed without authorization, LearnKiowa will review the issue, take steps to secure the site, and notify affected users when required.
