Kiowa Language Outreach Session July 10 2022

Kiowa Language Outreach Sunday Session of the Kiowa Language and Culture Revitalization Program Elder Mentors and Teacher Candidates with a focus on sharing Kiowa stories and songs, per Teacher Candidates’ request to recreate traditional Kiowa storytelling experiences. Discussion focused on listening and hearing the interpretation of each speaker in the Kiowa Culture Program (KCP) recording tape #111—Cedaring Ceremony (stopped at 19:11 into the recording), where each Mentor gave their translation of what each speaker shared during the recording; reflections from Mentors and participants on the topics shared in the recording; questions from participants, etc. Held on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
