Fall 2025 Session 3 of Learn Kiowa Session for Kiowa Language Teacher Candidates and current Credentialed Level 1 and Level 2 Kiowa Language Teachers for Level 1 and Level 2 Kiowa Language Learning focused on: Overview of the Fall 2025 Syllabus and agenda for Session 3; Questions and responses on practicing Kiowa Help Phrases; Practice reviewing situations on when to use the Kiowa Help Phrase using Study Stacks; Brief overview of Lesson 1 – Kiowa Greetings; Discussion of literal translations and free translations of each Kiowa Greeting; Practice pronunciation of Kiowa Greetings; Receiving feedback from our Kiowa Elder Mentors; and questions from participants. Elder Mentors and their assigned Candidates went into breakout rooms for the last 45 minutes of the session for one-on-one time to discuss items of interest (not recorded).

These sessions will be offered on Wednesdays, weekly, beginning August 13 through December 17 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. The agenda and syllabus are provided upon request. These sessions will support those who are interested in becoming Level 1 Credentialed Kiowa Language Teachers as well as currently credentialed Level 1 and Level 2 Credentialed Kiowa Language Teachers interested in growing their Kiowa language skills. Breakout rooms in Zoom will be used to support individual areas of the credentialing process and for one-on-one discussions between Elder Mentors and assigned Candidates. Updates from the Kiowa Language Credentialing Board members and Kiowa Language Department staff will be shared when available.
